Our overall goal is to develop a
small scale integrated process for the coproduction of the bio-fuel
(ethanol) and value added products such as limonene and pectic
fragments from citrus processing waste (CPW).

- Thanks to recent hikes in
gasoline
prices, there is a renewed interest in finding a cheaper way to fill up
the gas tank. Researchers at the Agricultural Research Service (ARS)
Citrus and Subtropical Products Laboratory in Fort Pierce, Fla. have
been working on a potential substitute: citrus peels.
